What is required to apply?
A $100 non-refundable reservation fee and a $49 application fee are required.
When can I move in?
Between 11 am and 4 pm on the beginning date of line #1 in your housing contract or any day after that.
Can I move in before my Contract starts?
Depending on space, we may be able to offer you an early move in date at a rate of $45 per day. Requests should be made to cviucf@aol.com
What will my address be?
Your Name, 11850 University Blvd. Orlando, FL 32817. You will receive a mailbox number when you move in. Until then, any mail sent in your name will reach you as long as it is sent no sooner than a week before your move in date.
When will I find out who my roommate will be?
If you did not request a specific roommate, you will meet your roommate when you move in. To help ensure the best possible match, we consider every applicant up to your move in date.
Can I receive a package at CVI before I move in?
Yes, however it must be sent no sooner than one week before you arrive. If yo uwill be shipping more than 2 packages to CVI before you move in, please notify us at cviucf@aol.com
Can I bring my own bed?
Yes. Please email a request to cviucf@aol.com at least two weeks prior to your move in date.
Can I use Financial Aid deferment for my move in payment?
Unfortunately no. You are required to have made the first and last month’s payment to move in.
Can I make my Move In payment before I move in?
Yes, we recommend making your move in payment online at our website www.cvi-ucf.com
Does Financial Aid pay you for housing?
You can use the money you receive from your Financial Aid to pay for your housing. First and Last month’s rent are required to move in. You can apply for Financial Aid Deferment once you have returned your contract and your housing has been confirmed.
Can I pay in one payment if I’m paying with Financial Aid?
If you would like to pay off your contract in full when you receive your aid or loan funds, we will honor a prorated 4% discount. Please see payment terms and options.
Can I sign up with monthly installments, then upgrade my payment plan for the discount?
Yes, you can. In fact, this is the best way to make sure you have a space reserved before your aid or loan funds are available. If you receive the funds to pay your contract in full prior to the day your contract starts, will will honor a 5% discount for the entire contract amount. If you have already moved in, a prorated 4% discount will be applied. Please see payment terms and options.
Can I upgrade my meal plan?
Meal plans can only be upgraded. We will prorate the cost for you any time and get you upgraded! Meal plans cannot be downgraded.
Can I upgrade to a Private room if I am in a Semi-Private?
Yes, you can. As long as the space is available, we are happy to upgrade you to Total Privacy! There are a limited number of private rooms available each semester.
Can I move in after my check-in date?
Yes, you may move in on the day your contract starts (line #1 of your Housing Contract), or any day after that between the hours of 11 am and 4 pm.
What methods can I use to make my payments?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, and Discover online. You may pay with all three and American Express by phone. There is a $5 fee for all phone payments.
I applied and singed my contract – when is my next payment due?
Please reference the schedule of payments. If you apply online, your schedule is included in yoru housing contract email. If you apply at CVI, your schedule of payments is mailed to you.
Can I have a guest stay the night? How long can they stay?
Yes you can! If you are in a semi-private room it is important to respect the wishes of your roomie so you want to make sure it is okay with them first. If your guest will stay with you for more than two days, you are required to get permission from management. Be sure to get your guest a parking pass at the front desk too.
What small appliances are allowed in my room?
At CVI, you are free to bring a hot plate, toaster oven, or George Forman grill. Your room comes wiht a microwave and dorm size refrigerator.
How big is the room?
CVI rooms are approx. 333 sq. ft. – Check out the perks of Total Privacy!
Can I paint my room?
You may paint the room as long as the walls are the only thing that is painted and the room is returned to its original color prior to your move out date.
What can I do if my roommate and I don’t get along?
We are super effective at matching roommates, but if for some reason that is not the case we will be happy to assist you with a room change. We do not charge to make the change. Just ask to speak to a Resident Manager at the front desk.
Can my boyfriend/girlfriend and I room together?
With written, notarized permission from each parent or guardian that guaranteed both contracts for any resident under 25 is required to room co-ed.
Can I share my meal plan with a friend?
Your CVI meal card can only be used by you. your friend can purchase a Guest Meal Plan to dine with you.
Can I get food from the cafeteria to take to my room?
Food may not be taken out of the dining room unless you have come in to pick up a bagged meal.
Is there a curfew for me? For my guests?
No curfews at CVI – Dorm living with Apartment freedom.
How much is parking?
It’s free!
No pets at all? Not even my hamster?
Certain small, caged animals are accepted but must be cleared with management at the time that you apply.
Can my friend and I have rooms across the hallway from each other?
Yes, of course. As long as we have an open suite (2 rooms that share a foyer, but have private room doors), we will reserve one for you and your friend in private rooms. Just let us know who you would like to share a suite with in the comments section of your application.
